The incident occurred on Sunay Street in the Çiftlikönü neighborhood of Tekirdağ's Süleymanpaşa district. According to allegations, the parked dump truck with license plate 59 DJ 327 began to move for an unknown reason and started rolling down the hill. The truck, which went out of control, sped forward before crashing into the window area of a house and coming to a stop. The impact caused the window railings of the house to be ripped from their place.
"Suddenly there was a loud noise"
Homeowner Seval Ural, who stated that she was preparing to leave the house with her children at the time of the incident, described the terrifying moments she experienced as follows:
"We were saved at the last moment. We were just leaving the house at that time when a loud noise erupted. Then I looked and saw that a truck hadn't broken the glass, but had ripped out the iron bars. We were very scared. We have cats in the house, and they started to run away. At first, we thought there was an earthquake, but there is no damage inside the house. This is a slope. These trucks shouldn't be entering here. They say the truck was empty. They say it rolled down on its own and crashed here before stopping."
The absence of anyone on the street prevented a disaster
The fact that there were no pedestrians or other vehicles on the street at the time of the accident prevented a potential disaster. While neighborhood residents experienced great panic, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene upon notification. While health teams stood by in the area as a precaution, police teams conducted an investigation at the scene.
Removed with construction equipment
Following the crime scene investigation, the dump truck, which had remained at the point of impact, was removed from its location with the help of two pieces of construction equipment. After the work was completed, the truck was taken down the hill in a controlled manner.
Police teams have launched an investigation into the incident.
