In the Ulus neighborhood of Büyükçekmece, on Leylek Street, residents reported cracking sounds coming from their building to the fire department around 23:00.

Upon arriving at the scene, the teams evacuated two adjacent buildings, one 4 stories and the other 3 stories high, following an inspection.

A total of 7 apartments were evacuated, and teams took security measures around the buildings. The status of the buildings, which police and municipal officers have cordoned off, will be determined following an inspection to be conducted during the day.

One of the residents, Ekrem Coşkun, said, "If the neighbors hadn't shouted, we wouldn't have known. We heard a sound on the 3rd floor. We thought a child had fallen, so we didn't pay much attention. Then the neighbors shouted, 'The house is collapsing,' and that's when we went downstairs."
