Two individuals arrested for assaulting a father in front of his children on the Marmaray

In Maltepe, individuals who assaulted a father in front of his children during a dispute over a seat while traveling on the Marmaray have been caught and taken into custody.

The incident occurred yesterday at approximately 16:45 at the Marmaray Süreyyapaşa Station.

According to the information obtained, a dispute broke out between D.E. (46), who was traveling with his two children, and a female passenger over a seat dispute.

During the argument, another passenger on the train, E.D. (50), attacked D.E. as the dispute escalated. The altercation grew when another passenger, I.A. (22), who joined the fight later, intervened.

Following the incident, police and medical teams were dispatched to the area.

D.E., who was assaulted in the fight, was taken to the hospital, where it was determined that he had a broken nose. Upon D.E.'s complaint, one of the suspects, I.A., was caught at the scene, while E.D. was caught later as a result of the work carried out after the incident.

Of the two suspects taken into custody, I.A. was released by judicial authorities after processing. E.D. was taken into custody following the initiation of judicial proceedings for the crime of "intentional injury."
