University student who fell ill on a turf field passes away
In Ordu, a university student who suddenly fell ill on a turf field passed away at the hospital where he was taken. The young man's funeral was held in his hometown of Merzifon, Amasya.

Mert Erkek (21), a first-year student in the Department of Horticulture at Ordu University's Faculty of Agriculture, suddenly fell ill while playing football with his friends on a turf field in the evening hours.
As the young man's condition persisted, emergency medical teams were dispatched to the location.
After receiving initial intervention from the teams, Mert Erkek was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Despite all efforts by doctors, the young man, who was determined to have suffered a heart attack, could not be saved.
The young man's funeral was laid to rest following the funeral prayer held in Muşruf village of Merzifon district in his hometown of Amasya. Amasya Governor Önder Bakan, who attended the funeral ceremony, offered his condolences to the family.
