Verdict reached in trial over death of 19-year-old in arcade stabbing
In the trial concerning the death of a 19-year-old in a stabbing at an arcade in Kayseri, the defendant in custody was sentenced to life imprisonment for 'intentional killing'.

At the hearing held at the Kayseri 1st High Criminal Court, the family of the deceased, H.H.K. (19), the defendant in custody C.A.A., and the lawyers for both parties were present. Presenting his opinion on the merits, the Public Prosecutor requested that the defendant be punished for the crime of 'intentional killing'. Making his final defense before the verdict, C.A.A. stated that he did not commit the act intentionally and that he has psychological disorders. In his defense, C.A.A. said, "He was like a brother to me. I read the Yasin surah for him every day," and requested his acquittal.
The mother of H.H.K., recalling that the defendant had asked for her forgiveness in a previous session, said, "I do not forgive him. My son has been under the soil for 7 months." The father also expressed his pain with the words, "We are dying every day."
Having heard the parties, the court panel sentenced the defendant to life imprisonment for the crime of 'intentional killing'. After the verdict was announced, the defendant was removed from the courtroom in tears.
The incident occurred at an arcade on Mehmet Özhaseki Boulevard in the Hisarcık neighborhood of the Melikgazi district. The argument that broke out between H.H.K. and C.A.A. quickly turned into a knife fight, and H.H.K., who was seriously injured by knife wounds, lost his life at the hospital where he was taken. C.A.A., who fled after the incident, was caught by police teams and arrested.
