Woman hairdresser assaulted in front of her young daughter: They pulled her hair and dragged her on the floor

In the Afşin district of Kahramanmaraş, a customer who was unhappy with her child's haircut at a hair salon argued with the hairdresser. Later, the customer's relatives got involved and raided the shop. The salon owner was dragged on the floor and assaulted by the customer's relatives in front of her own child. The hairdresser obtained a medical report for the assault and filed a complaint against the individuals.

According to the information obtained, the incident took place at a hair salon in the Dedebaba neighborhood of the Afşin district. Allegedly, a female customer, E.G., came to the salon to have her child's hair cut. Unhappy with the cut, E.G. argued with the staff at the workplace for a while. E.G. then left the salon and later told her husband about the situation. Following this, E.G.'s relatives came to the workplace and argued with the business owner. The argument soon turned into a fight. Salon owner Duygu Mert was assaulted by the women on the other side, who kicked her on the floor and pulled her hair in front of her daughter.

Upon reports of the fight, police teams were dispatched to the scene. Duygu Mert filed a complaint, stating that the equipment in the workplace was damaged and that she was assaulted by 4-5 people.

On the other hand, the footage of the fight was recorded second by second by the workplace's security cameras.

Speaking after the incident, salon owner Duygu Mert stated that she was insulted and threatened during the attack and that some materials in the workplace were damaged, saying, "We were sitting in our workplace that day when the woman came in. She said she wanted her daughter's hair cut. They started arguing with my staff, and since I was also a hairdresser, I didn't want to intervene from afar. My staff explained the procedure, saying this is how we do it. Then she started insulting. I wanted my staff to remain silent, and my staff told me, 'Sister, she is insulting me, don't expect me to stay quiet.' Later, the woman started making serious accusations against the young girl in front of her. I said if she wasn't satisfied, we would refund her money and she could get it cut elsewhere. She used heavy profanities towards the staff. My staff threw it and grabbed her scarf from behind, and I told my staff, 'Absolutely no physical contact, if she isn't satisfied, she will leave, make the payment.' Then she entered and started walking towards my staff. We sent the woman away along with the customers, and I terminated my staff's employment," she said.

"It all happened in front of my child"

Explaining that the customer told her family about the incident and that they came to the workplace and carried out the attack, business owner Mert said, "The woman tells her husband that she was assaulted inside and dragged by her hair while pregnant. When her husband heard this, he took his brother with him and they raided the salon with knives on them; there were women and children with them too. They said, 'How could you treat my wife like this?' I told them there are camera recordings, you cannot enter the workplace like this, there are women and children here, but they didn't listen.

Afterwards, the police arrived. The police watched the footage, and upon learning that the wife had lied, the woman's brother said, 'Sister Duygu, I'm sorry, my sister has psychological problems, her pregnancy is difficult, and there is a risk of miscarriage,' and we didn't know she was pregnant until that moment. Later, they left, saying they would file a complaint against us. The customer couldn't digest this and told her relatives this time. She incited the women by saying, 'They assaulted me, dragged me by my hair, and punched my stomach.' About 10 women entered the shop without question, and they started talking, saying, 'Come on, cut our hair too, let's see how hair is pulled,' while I was still sitting in the chair at that time. They threw the coffee table in the middle at me. We said we had fired the employee. They said, 'Then you are here as the owner.' My child and my father were also there. Without knowing what happened, the women threw me onto the coffee table, and each of them started grabbing and pulling my hair. One group went to the back and started breaking the shop, while another group just started trashing the place. It all happened in front of my child. Even though I said let's watch the camera recordings, no one listened. That was how I was assaulted. Afterwards, I fainted because I received a blow to my ear and was taken to the hospital. My treatment continued at the hospital until 12 at night, I obtained a medical report for the assault, and we went to the police station and filed a complaint," she said.
