"WHEN WE OPENED THE MOUTH OF THE BAG, IT STARTED TO MOVE"

Witness İsmail K. said, "We light a fire in front of the astroturf pitch in the evenings. We needed to get wood. There was a lot of wood next to the trash container. I sent my friends to the trash to get wood. The trash was full to the brim. My friends saw a cat in the trash. There was also a trash bin next to the trash container. While our friends were checking the cat, they heard a sound coming from the bag.

When they opened the mouth of the bag, a baby's leg came out. Then they called out to me, 'Uncle, come here.' When I went to them, we opened the mouth of the bag and looked inside; there was a baby. The baby was not crying. When we opened the mouth of the bag, it started to move. Then we called the ambulance. The baby looked like it had been thrown head-first. Its umbilical cord had not even been cut yet," he stated.

The court panel decided to continue the detention of Cansu Ç. The court panel, which requested that a report be obtained regarding the health status of the baby, decided to hand over the file to the Public Prosecutor for the preparation of the indictment and adjourned the hearing to a later date.
