In an incident that occurred yesterday at the Atatürk Technical and Vocational Anatolian High School in the İlkadım district of Samsun, M.F.C. (17), who had previously been suspended from the school for stabbing a student, returned to the school with his friend A.E.K. (16). The pair hid in the school restroom with knives in their possession. Students informed the teacher on duty, Umut Deniz Mert (52), that there were unauthorized individuals in the restroom. Upon this, teacher Mert warned the youths he encountered in the hallway to leave the school. However, M.F.C. and A.E.K. attacked the teacher and fled to the school garden, where they also brandished knives.
Following the incident, police and medical teams were quickly dispatched to the school. The injured teacher was taken to Samsun Training and Research Hospital for treatment. The fleeing attackers were apprehended and taken into custody by teams from the Samsun Police Department's Juvenile Branch. M.F.C. and A.E.K., who were referred to the courthouse today, were arrested on charges of 'intentional injury and threat' and sent to the Kavak Juvenile Closed Prison.
