72-hour deadline from RTÜK to TELE2 Haber

Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) member Tuncay Keser from the CHP made a statement regarding the decision taken by the Council concerning TELE2 Haber. Keser stated that RTÜK has made it mandatory for TELE2 Haber to obtain a dual license in order to continue its broadcasting activities.
According to the information provided by Keser, TELE2 Haber has been granted a 72-hour period to submit the license application in question. If the necessary application is not made within this period, an access ban decision will be implemented against the platform.
The establishment process of TELE2 Haber took shape following the developments that began with the detention and arrest of TELE1 Editor-in-Chief Merdan Yanardağ. After a trustee was appointed to TELE1 on October 24, 2025, many journalists working at the channel resigned.
The resigning journalists announced to the public that they had established their new broadcasting platform under the name TELE2 Haber. In the statement made regarding the establishment of TELE2 Haber, it was stated, "On Friday, November 14, at 19:28, we will start broadcasting as TELE2 HABER, saying 'hello again' with our website, our YouTube channel, and all our social media accounts such as X and Instagram."

Following its establishment, TELE2 Haber began to continue its broadcasting activities via its YouTube channel. With the latest decision taken by RTÜK, it has been reported that a critical stage has been reached regarding the licensing process for the platform to continue its broadcasts.
