CHP Group Deputy Chairman Murat Emir visited TELE 1 following the appointment of a trustee. In a statement made via social media, Emir reacted strongly to the appointment of a trustee to TELE 1, where Merdan Yanardağ, who was taken into custody as part of an "espionage" investigation, serves as Editor-in-Chief.
During the visit, Emir met with Ankara Representative Zeynel Lüle and all staff at TELE 1's Ankara Bureau, stating that the channel is being targeted for silencing following the trustee decision.
Emir said: "We visited the Ankara Bureau of TELE 1, which they want to silence and black out with the trustee decision. We stated once again that we will not bow down to this dark order and that we will continue to be the voice of the free press."
