As the world pursues the details of the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Iran, the Türkiye newspaper carried a striking claim regarding the period leading up to this assassination on its front page.

According to the report by Yılmaz Bilgen, suspicious activities targeting Haniyeh, who came to Turkey after his family members were killed, were detected. The MIT raised the security code and built a steel shield around Haniyeh. The Turkish intelligence's sensitivity on this matter continued in Qatar as well. A Hamas official stated that Ismail Haniyeh survived two separate assassination attempts in Istanbul and Doha and that he made it through these processes safely thanks to the MIT's preventive initiatives.

MIT ALSO WARNED BEFORE TEHRAN VISIT

On the other hand, it was learned that Haniyeh and Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah were invited by Iran under the same protection protocol. It was noted that following the removal of Nasrallah from the list, the Turkish intelligence side warned Haniyeh and Hamas.

There is no information indicating that the warning directed at Hamas and Haniyeh was also shared with the Tehran administration. However, it is assessed that the selection of the Imam Ali Base, which also houses the Presidential Palace, as the residence for Ismail Haniyeh, and the accommodation of Yemen Houthi Representative Mohammed Abdulsalam, Kataib Hezbollah Commander Hamadani, and Islamic Jihad leader Ziyad al-Nakhalah in the same building were security-related steps parallel to these developments.

It was also learned that the MIT warned Hamas regarding mobile communication devices, land transfers, and internet usage prior to the Tehran visit.

NUMBER OF PEOPLE QUESTIONED REGARDING THE ASSASSINATION EXCEEDS 70

Meanwhile, as the investigation into the killing of Haniyeh deepens, the number of people questioned has exceeded 70. The field research and all footage related to the Veterans Mansion and the presidential inauguration ceremony, as well as two different locations he visited afterward, have been taken under detailed examination by Iranian security forces. It is assessed that the intelligence flow before the assassination began at least eight hours earlier and that the physical infiltration took place during the Milad Tower tour that Haniyeh visited after the inauguration ceremony.

Turkish security sources stated that the entire process is being closely monitored and that information exchange with Iran regarding the incident is ongoing.
