Elfin Tataroğlu, elected to the Press Council High Board: 'We will continue to stand by media workers'
The members of the High Board for the new term were determined at the Press Council's triennial Members' Assembly meeting. Pınar Türenç was unanimously re-elected as president. Elfin Tataroğlu, who was elected as a reader representative to the Press Council High Board, stated, "We will stand by media workers in an environment of pressure and censorship. We will continue our solidarity to defend freedom of expression."

The Press Council's elective Members' Assembly meeting was held with the participation of members from various provinces of Turkey, primarily Istanbul. At the meeting, a total of 28 members, consisting of 14 journalists and 14 reader representatives who will serve on the High Board, were elected by secret ballot.

PINAR TÜRENÇ RECEIVES VOTE OF CONFIDENCE UNANIMOUSLY
The presidential election was held at the first meeting of the newly elected High Board. As a result of the secret ballot, Pınar Türenç was unanimously re-elected as the President of the Press Council and continued her duty.

Elfin Tataroğlu, who was elected as a reader representative to the Press Council High Board as a result of the election, shared her thoughts with 12punto.
