Former Gendarmerie General Commander becomes Ekol TV Board Member

Former Gendarmerie General Commander General Arif Çetin has become a member of the Board of Directors at Ekol TV. Çetin had previously made headlines due to the individuals he was photographed with.

A photograph of Çetin taken with Ferhat Aydoğan, known as the press advisor to mafia leader Alaattin Çakıcı, had caused a significant stir on social media. Aydoğan’s post, in which he shared the photo with Çetin and thanked the Gendarmerie General Commander for his efforts in the disaster zone in Kahramanmaraş, sparked controversy. In his Twitter post, Aydoğan had used the following expressions:

“We visited our Gendarmerie General Commander, Mr. Arif Çetin Pasha, one of the heroes of our homeland, in #Kahramanmaraş and thanked him for his dedicated work in the disaster zones for 36 days.”

This post, combined with Çetin’s previous appearances in the news regarding his alleged mafia connections and controversial photos, ignited a new debate.

A photograph of Çetin with Galip Öztürk, the owner of Metro Turizm who fled to Georgia, had also previously become a topic of discussion.
