Transfer not completed despite payment: Halk TV owner Cafer Mahiroğlu issues statement on Flash Haber
Cafer Mahiroğlu, the owner of Halk TV, who made a payment to purchase Flash Haber but stated that the transfer could not be completed due to threats and pressure exerted on the channel's management, has issued a new statement regarding the matter.

The events surrounding Halk TV's process of purchasing Flash Haber have caused a wide stir in the media world.
Cafer Mahiroğlu, the owner of Halk TV, who announced on November 25 that Flash Haber had joined the Halk TV family, had previously stated that they had paid for the purchase of Flash Haber but that the transfer process could not be completed because the channel's management was subjected to threats and pressure.
Stating that they were unable to acquire the channel despite making the payment, Mahiroğlu had noted that the Chairman of the Board of Flash Haber was subjected to threats and pressure in Ankara.
Mahiroğlu had also announced that they were unable to recover the money they had paid for the acquisition.
Making a new statement regarding the process of purchasing Flash Haber, Cafer Mahiroğlu announced that they have received their advance payment back.
Thanking the public, Mahiroğlu stated, "After the issue caused a great stir in the public eye, we have received our advance payment back."

"A thank you to the public; I would like to express my gratitude for the interest and support you have shown regarding my announcement about Flash Haber. After the issue caused a great stir in the public eye, we have received our advance payment back. It is gratifying that Mr. Asutay, who conducted the negotiations with us on behalf of the Flash Haber Board of Directors, and his stakeholders have ultimately returned to the line of law.
Property rights are sacred. The Republic of Turkey is a great state, and its rules function. It is out of the question for anyone to pursue personal interests by hiding behind institutions or using their names. A free press is very valuable and indispensable for democracy. It is clear that the further strengthening of the Halk TV family is a matter of great concern. While we do not know what the new editorial line of Flash Haber will be, we wish its new ownership success."
