The new owner of Flash TV has been announced: 84 million lira tender concluded

The Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF) put the commercial and economic integrity of Flash Haber TV, owned by Göktuğ Multimedya Yayıncılık AŞ, up for sale. The sale, announced with a starting price of 84 million lira, concluded with a tender process that combined sealed-bid and open-auction methods.

WHO WON THE FLASH TV TENDER?

The tender was won by Eşref Keleş, the owner of the Ankara-based Öz Er-Ka İnşaat. With this acquisition, Keleş became the owner of not only Flash Haber TV but also the satellite broadcasting license and multi-cable broadcasting licenses granted by the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) that belonged to Göktuğ Multimedya Yayıncılık A.Ş. He also took over significant rights such as the permit for television broadcasting over the internet (Internet-TV).

The sale of Flash Haber TV took place as part of the TMSF's process of transferring significant assets in the broadcasting sector. Following the tender, the new owner, Eşref Keleş, is expected to increase his influence in the media field along with the broadcasting rights of this television channel.

WHO IS EŞREF KELEŞ?

Keleş, who was an AKP parliamentary candidate nominee from Diyarbakır, had made a name for himself by purchasing for 15 million dollars the luxury villa where 2003 Miss Turkey and model Aslı Baş died under suspicious circumstances.
