Surprise departure at Netflix: He will start his own company

Scott Stuber, the head of Netflix's film division, has announced in a written statement that he will be leaving his post.

Stuber, who joined Netflix in 2017 to expand its original film slate, was appointed chairman of Netflix Film in January 2023.

SUCCESSOR NOT YET DETERMINED

A successor for Stuber has not yet been determined.

During Stuber's tenure, Netflix became the most-nominated platform at the Academy Awards for three consecutive years from 2020 to 2022, and received best picture nominations for eight productions, including 'The Irishman', 'Roma', and 'The Power of the Dog'.

According to a report by Bloomberg, Stuber will continue to produce projects for Netflix at his new company.
