Turgay Olcayto resigns: The new president of the Journalists Association of Turkey has been announced

Journalists Association of Turkey President Turgay Olcayto has resigned from his post. Vahap Munyar has been elected as the new president to replace Olcayto.

Journalists Association of Turkey (TGC) President Turgay Olcayto has resigned from his post.

Following Olcayto's resignation, Vahap Munyar was elected to the position of president. Doğan Şentürk became the vice president, and İhsan Yılmaz became the deputy president.

It was learned that Sibel Güneş will continue to serve as the secretary general.

Turgay Olcayto, who resigned, announced that he will move to Antalya on January 15.

WHO IS VAHAP MUNYAR?

Born in Malatya in 1958, Vahap Munyar graduated from the School of Journalism and Public Relations, affiliated with the Istanbul Academy of Economics and Commercial Sciences.

Munyar first stepped into the profession in 1978. In 1984, he joined the Hürriyet Newspaper Economy Department as a reporter.

On the other hand, Munyar worked in the Milliyet Newspaper Economy Department for 5 years. In 1992, Munyar returned to Hürriyet as the deputy economy editor.
