We have lost 12 martyrs in the fight against terrorism over the last 2 days. In a post on his social media account, retired Brigadier General Naim Babüroğlu recalled the US’s relations with the terrorist organization and stated that, in response, Turkey must say “No” to Sweden’s NATO membership.

Babüroğlu wrote the following in his 2 posts:

"We have 12 heroic martyrs. I wish God’s mercy upon our heroic martyrs and a speedy recovery to our heroic veterans. -I condemn the countries that appear as “allies” but provide financial, training, weapons, intelligence, and logistical support to the terrorist organization, as well as their collaborators. -Despite the US, Turkey must neutralize the terrorist organization in Syria and Iraq with a comprehensive operation. -Turkey must say NO to the NATO membership of SWEDEN, which is a target of the US.

Turkey launched “Operation Peace Spring” east of the Euphrates in Syria on October 9, 2019. A US delegation came to Turkey to end the operation. The operation was paused on October 17, 2019. The US had sat at the table on behalf of the YPG/PKK terrorist organization. -4 years have passed. The US has always blocked Turkey’s comprehensive operation against the PKK/YPG terrorist organization in Syria. It shot down a UCAV. It preferred the terrorist organization over Turkey. It has done everything short of declaring direct war on Turkey. -And this US is asking Turkey to approve Sweden’s NATO membership. Turkey must not approve it."
