DETAILS ABOUT THE HISTORIC MANSION
Registered as a "second-degree historic monument" by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Burhanettin Sezerar Mansion stands out with its architecture consisting of 2 rooms, 2 living rooms, and 7 bathrooms. The mansion also features a 39-square-meter private pier. As one of the rare examples among the historic structures on the Bosphorus, this mansion impresses with its elegant architecture.
Drawing attention with its stark white wooden structure, the Burhanettin Sezerar Mansion serves as an elegant example with its balconies extending across every floor and its intricately carved eaves. After being built by a French family, the mansion changed hands when it was purchased by contractor Aslan Sadıkoğlu.
The mansion is named after Prof. Dr. Burhanettin Sezerar, a professor at the ITU Faculty of Electrical Engineering. Sezerar, who purchased the mansion in 1933 in the name of his wife Muazzez Sezerar, passed away in 1952. Subsequently, the mansion passed to the second generation of the Sezerar family and was rented out for a time to Hanzade Sultan, the daughter of Sultan Abdülmecid.
THE MANSION IS CURRENTLY USED AS A RESTAURANT
The Burhanettin Sezerar Mansion currently serves as a restaurant. The interior of the mansion contains a total of 11 rooms, 2 living rooms, 1 kitchen, and 4 bathrooms. On the ground floor, there are revolving cabinets between the kitchen and the rooms. The second floor on the rear facade of the mansion features a full-length projection supported by corbels.
The sea-facing side of the mansion is equipped with balconies from end to end. Additionally, a marble fountain with flowing water is placed in every section at the base of the mansion.
