Bekir Ali Yüksel writes: I am raising the flag

Here is the full text of the article by Political Communication Consultant Bekir Ali Yüksel, who also expressed his reaction to the statuses being attempted to be granted to the leader of the PKK terrorist organization, Öcalan, and the use of the term 'leader' for the ringleader:

In our country, which has been governed by the ballot box since the day we transitioned to a multi-party system, I have recently been faced with questions like: "Will they actually count the vote I cast?" "Will they actually recognize the result that emerges?"

Unfortunately, the nation is no longer sure whether the vote it casts will have the final say. Because we have all seen together that the seal of the ballot box can be broken in another room. The rules change during the election period; an election held under the supervision of election boards can be deemed "null and void" by the pen of a completely different court years later. Someone else can say "no" to what the nation said "yes" to.

What follows is silence. What follows is a weary sigh from those who say, "Didn't I tell you so?" What follows is that insidious surrender that slowly seeps into us, saying, "Nothing ever changes in this country anyway..."

But I reject this surrender, and I am raising the flag!

I am raising the flag for the miner who cannot receive his wages, the teacher dragged on the ground, the tradesman who shuts down his shop, and the retiree who cannot make ends meet at the end of the month.

I am raising the flag for those who are thrown into prison because of the news they wrote, the podium they stepped onto, or the sentences they constructed.

I am raising the flag for the mother who cannot hold anyone accountable for her child, the unemployed youth, and the grandfather who cannot give his grandchild pocket money for the holiday.

And most of all, I am raising the flag to wake up those who say, "Let the snake that doesn't touch me live for a thousand years," and forget that their turn will come one day!

I Am Raising the Flag Against Terror, Separatism, and Injustice!

I am raising the flag against the separatist terrorist organization that has been fitting the robust children of this homeland into coffins for forty years, against those who call its ringleader "leader," against those who organize freedom rallies for the monster of Imralı, and against those who permit these demonstrations.

I am raising the flag for the mothers who open their doors with heart palpitations when they send their children to military service.

I am raising the flag against the colonial governors of imperialism who are hostile to the unitary structure.

I Have an Objection! I am raising the flag against corruption, impudence, and theft; against separatism, plunder, and dishonesty; against the messengers of Imralı and the sycophants of Öcalan!

Yes, they will also be in the squares this weekend. They will shout "freedom" with the voice coming from Imralı, and they will put the captivity of a murderer up for negotiation by calling it a "process."

That is exactly why now is the time to fill the squares. It is time to make the outcry of the Turkish nation heard by deaf ears. Because this is not just a rally; it is the day when the silent majority, who say "stop" to injustice, lawlessness, and ethnic separatism, finds its voice!

I will be at Tandoğan Square on Saturday evening, June 27, at 18.00.

To object to the culture of submission; to show the majesty of the red flag to those who think this country is ownerless.

To say, "The crooked sword should rust in its scabbard, the monster of Imralı should remain in Imralı," come to the squares!

For the sake of the lost justice, the silenced voice, the suppressed will, and those who gave their lives for this homeland; we will not bow down, we will not submit, and we will never stop saying, "This country is not ownerless."

Let the surrender end, long live the Republic!
