The Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Department of Civil Engineering participated in an important program as part of its internationalization activities. The physical mobility phase of the Blended Intensive Program (BIP) titled “Taste Vilnius: Urban Flavours & Crazy City Lab,” organized within the framework of Erasmus+, was held in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, between May 4-8, 2026.

The program, hosted by Vilnius Kolegija, was attended by Civil Engineering Department faculty member Dr. Volkan Arslan along with students Asım Selçuk, Gökmen Kılıç, and Mohamed Ibrahim. Following a one-week online preparation process conducted prior to the program, the participants took an active role in the face-to-face activities.

Within the scope of the program, international teams composed of different disciplines developed innovative and sustainable ideas for the revitalization of idle urban spaces. Contributing to the process from a civil engineering perspective, the team focused on developing appropriate construction solutions, researching sustainable approaches, and integrating green infrastructure applications into projects through the use of local materials.
