The İmamoğlu case: Fabricating a crime from a non-existent report

The Ministry of Interior had launched an investigation into İmamoğlu's tenure as the Mayor of Beylikdüzü. 12punto columnist Tuncay Mollaveisoğlu wrote about the truth regarding the investigation launched over allegations of 'rigging a tender'.

The Civil Inspection Board of the Ministry of Interior sent the report it prepared to the Büyükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. The indictment prepared by the Büyükçekmece prosecutor's office alleged that the public suffered a loss of 250 thousand liras. In the hearing held today, the case was adjourned to April 25, 2023. 12punto columnist Tuncay Mollaveisoğlu shared the facts about the investigation on his social media account. Mollaveisoğlu wrote the following: 

"Fabricating a crime from a non-existent report.

The case of IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, which was heard today, is being described in the sycophant press as rigging a tender… However, this is not the truth. There is no rigging of a tender in the case; there is a highly subjective definition such as failure to perform one's duty. The case is built on coercion and false statements. For example, in the indictment, Ekrem İmamoğlu is criticized by asking, 'Despite the internal auditor's report, why did you not listen to this report and do what was necessary?' However, at that time, there was neither such a report nor a unit called internal audit in the municipality.

Keeping an empty file on the agenda as if there were something there actually reveals the pathetic state of the AKP before the local elections."
