Japan's ECEC early childhood model is being implemented in Turkey for the first time

SBA Yuva Nursery and Daycare Center has become the first institution in Turkey to implement the ECEC model used in Japan for early childhood education. Opened under the umbrella of SATS Work Education Limited, the institution has brought the model to life in Mersin.

ECEC is known as a holistic system that addresses cognitive, socio-emotional, physical, and cultural development within the same structure. By adapting this approach to Turkey, SBA Yuva aims to strengthen fundamental skills in children at an early age, such as independence, responsibility, cooperation, and environmental awareness.

The institution's program consists of play-based learning, self-care skills, a sense of community, secure teacher-child relationships, and outdoor activities. This model, which is considered one of the key components of preschool success in Japan, is being implemented within a structured system in Turkey for the first time.

Selin Ünaldı, a partner at SATS Work Education Limited, said the following regarding the process of bringing the model to Turkey:

“ECEC is an approach I have been following for years and it plays a key role in Japan's success in preschool education. As SBA Yuva, we are pleased to be the first nursery to implement this model in Turkey. Our goal is to equip children with strong skills they can use throughout their lives.”

SBA Yuva provides half-day and full-day education for children aged 1–5 by combining ECEC with contemporary approaches such as Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and Waldorf. Classrooms prepared with natural materials, a developmental tracking system, and a boutique structure are among the institution's prominent features.

SATS Work Education Limited, an educational initiative that adapts international models for early childhood to Turkey, focuses on teacher development, family communication, and child-centered programs.
