Retired Rear Admiral Cihat Yaycı foresaw the attack: 'They will have the PKK carry out an action'

A terrorist attack was carried out in front of the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) facilities.

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced in a statement on the social media platform X that there were martyrs and wounded in the attack. Security forces have launched a large-scale investigation into the incident.

RETIRED GENERAL CİHAT YAYCI HAD SAID "AN ATTACK MAY OCCUR"

Drawing attention to potential terrorist acts in a statement made before the attack, retired Rear Admiral Cihat Yaycı had practically signaled the terrorist attack in advance. In his speech, Yaycı had used the following expressions:

"We asked, 'Where did this call to the terrorist ringleader come from in an environment where the PKK has become unable to carry out actions within the country?'... Following this, those who orchestrated this plot will now have the PKK carry out an action to make people say, 'The PKK is not finished'."

ATTACK CAME AFTER BAHÇELİ'S ÖCALAN STATEMENT

It was noted that the attack took place immediately after the controversial statements made by MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli regarding Abdullah Öcalan.

In his party's group meeting, referring to Öcalan, Bahçeli had stated, "Let him come to the Parliament and speak, let him say that terrorism is over." These statements by Bahçeli had caused widespread reactions in public opinion.

Security units are continuing their efforts to shed light on the background of the attack and to apprehend the perpetrators. New statements from officials are awaited.
