Serap Paköz: 'I wonder if the two sisters also filed a lawsuit against their mother?'

Nilgün Belgün reacted to the criticism directed at master theater actor Metin Akpınar, who was also her mentor, following the revelation of his twin daughters years later and the subsequent paternity suit. Pointing out that the 82-year-old Akpınar is a highly valuable artist, Belgün shared a written statement and said the following:

“This photo is from the music rehearsal of the play 'Haneler', where I performed my first professional acting role at the Devekuşu Cabaret in 1976... Its memory and value are very great for me. Metin Akpınar was my master, my boss, and my stage partner in those years... Recently, he has been in the spotlight regarding his private life more than ever before... Just as every person has mistakes and wrongs in their life, so can artists. Everyone is responsible for their own mistakes and wrongs, and they pay the price themselves. And he has paid it.

We should no longer hound an artist who is currently 82 years old; we should not further damage the dignity of this man who is already saddened enough by what he has experienced... I think we should close the subject without causing him any more distress and leave him alone with his daughters.

Because I know that these valuable people are irreplaceable... We must remember them fondly and appreciate their value while they are still with us. I wanted to say these things as an old friend and as a student who learned a lot from her master. The situation is serious and is by no means an event to be made into gossip material...”

'THEN THE SINCERITY OF THE DAUGHTERS WILL NOT BE QUESTIONED'

Famous presenter Serap Paköz also asked Nilgün Belgün the following question that she was curious about:

“My dear Nilgün, there is one more issue I am curious about, and I haven't heard the answer to this question in the press. I wonder if these two sisters also filed a lawsuit against their mother? Did their mother also register them under her name? In their new IDs, the father's name will be written as Metin Akpınar. Well, what will be written as the mother's name? Is the issue only a paternity suit, or will a maternity suit also come to the agenda? Then the sincerity of the daughters will not be questioned.
