Many sexist expressions that have become embedded in our language along with our culture will now be monitored.
According to a report by Milliyet, the Ministry, which has rolled up its sleeves to purify language of sexist expressions based on the principle of zero tolerance for violence, has decided to cooperate with the TDK for egalitarian and non-violent discourse in daily life and on social media.
In this context, the TDK has launched a study to identify elements in language and traditions—such as proverbs, idioms, and folk tales—that lead to violence against women. It was noted that awareness campaigns on this subject will begin towards the end of the year.
