Time Out, which selected a Marseille neighborhood as the coolest in the world in 2024, has announced the most popular areas that should be visited right now.

38 cool and vibrant city districts were selected by experts on the ground and local city editors based on criteria such as food, drink, art, and culture.

Other factors considered to create the shortlist of trending neighborhoods included walkability, street life, community, and "one-of-a-kind local flavors."

With its "rebellious spirit," "colorful dead-end streets," and "graffiti-covered alleyways," Marseille's Notre Dame du Mont took the top spot in Time Out's 7th annual ranking.

Casablanca's concrete jungle, Mers Sultan, came in second with its praised delicious food and futuristic architecture, while Pererenan in Bali took third place with its pristine beaches and cool cafe culture.

South Korea's Seoul and the US city of Portland rounded out the top 5 with their vibrant nightlife and dynamic street life.

Three neighborhoods from the United Kingdom (UK) made the list of cultural hotspots: Strathbungo in Glasgow with its parks and jazz bars, Leyton in London with its friendly faces and football club, and Stokes Croft & St. Paul in Bristol with its lively eateries.

Stokes Croft & St. Paul ranked 6th on the list as the "hub of Afro-Caribbean culture" with its historic and colorful family-run boutiques.

Time Out travel editor Grace Beard said:

"Time Out's annual World's Coolest Neighborhoods ranking celebrates the most unique and exciting areas of our cities. The neighborhoods on this year's list have a lot in common: great places to eat and drink, modern culture, street life, and a thriving community.

But at the same time, each one is a unique reflection of its city, offering something special you won't find anywhere else. Some have only just reached their prime; others have been 'cool' for a while and are gaining new momentum. All of them should be on your radar for visiting these cities."
