TKP General Secretary Kemal Okuyan on Sadettin Saran: 'A new design for Fenerbahçe is on the agenda'

It has been announced that Fenerbahçe Sports Club President Sadettin Saran, who was released under judicial control after testifying as a suspect in a drug investigation, tested positive for cocaine in a hair test.

Saran, who underwent a re-test at an independent institution, was detained last night and taken to the Istanbul Gendarmerie Provincial Command. Saran will testify to the prosecutor at the Çağlayan Courthouse today.

Evaluating the drug operations, TKP General Secretary Kemal Okuyan made remarkable statements regarding Saran's detention.

Okuyan said, "It is clear that as an extension of the tensions within the AKP, the management of Fenerbahçe will also be renewed in the near future."


Pointing out that it is impossible for this issue to be solely about drugs, Okuyan continued:

"There is an operation regarding drugs, but it is proceeding through end-users. There is a huge sector in Turkey; it is not illegal or anything, it has infiltrated everywhere. This so-called dirty money has been integrated into many holdings.

The media, the sports world... The media has been shaped as an extension of the government, and there are attacks on those outside of this. The struggle within the government has to extend to the media, but when you lift the lid on something, its other connections also emerge.

The current government structure includes capital, media, and we need to add sports to this; as far as we understand, a new design for Fenerbahçe is coming to the agenda. Let this not be misunderstood as being behind this or that president; we have never supported a capitalist in our lives, and we never will, we are communists.

Therefore, we do not have a preference for this person or that person. One boss leaves and another comes, but Fenerbahçe is a very big brand, it has a very serious fan base. Therefore, there is a debate over who will manage Fenerbahçe."
