The countdown has begun: This is how you will watch Atatürk's childhood for the first time!

"Mustafa," the first installment of a four-film animation series depicting the life of our country's founder, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, is preparing to meet its audience in theaters on October 25. Thanks to this first film, which focuses on Atatürk's childhood, education, childhood dreams, and the environment in which he grew up, children in particular will have the opportunity to watch Atatürk through animation for the first time. The film 'Mustafa,' which is also designed to be enjoyable for adults, was created with the perception and emotional world of children in mind.

'Mustafa,' which tells the story of the childhood of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk—a man who lived a life that would teach future generations the importance of patriotism, the future, and unity—claims to be a guide for every child with dreams. Pre-sale tickets for the film began on October 18, and the pre-sales indicate that there is significant interest in the film.

IN THEATERS ON OCTOBER 25!

The film "Mustafa" features voice acting by master actor Altan Erkekli and consultation by researcher-author Erol Mütercimler, while the music was performed by Ferman Akgül, the lead singer of the band Manga, and presenter and musician Oğuzhan Uğur. 

Produced by Kamuran Ayna and Emir Cömert, "Mustafa" cost 1 million dollars to make and will meet audiences in more than 400 movie theaters on October 25, 2024. 

AYNA: A GIFT TO THE CHILDREN OF TODAY, THE ADULTS OF TOMORROW

Speaking about the film, producer Kamuran Ayna said, "We made this film to tell children about our Ata (Father) through his human side. We made it so that they can find the strength within their own will to stand up, no matter what difficulties they encounter." Emphasizing that the team took great care to reflect children's curiosity, imagination, and values while creating 'Mustafa,' Ayna stated, "We carried out meticulous work at every stage, from scriptwriting to animation. We believe we have been very, very sensitive about keeping it in context and protecting Atatürk's life from both superstitions and exaggerations."

Stating, "We made this film for the children of today, the adults of tomorrow," producer Kamuran Ayna added, "We worked on it with great effort, giving of ourselves, putting ourselves into it, and we entrust it to our people, to Atatürk's children, and to the bright future of Turkey."

PREMIERES IN ANKARA, MERSIN, AND ISTANBUL

The Ankara premiere of the film, for which Contact More Strategy is handling gala organization and media communications, will be held on Monday, October 21, and the Istanbul premiere on Wednesday, October 23. The Mersin premiere will be held on Tuesday, October 22, under the leadership of the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality. The Ankara and Istanbul premieres, in particular, will bring together many famous names from the worlds of politics, media, art, and academia.

HOW DOES THE FILM TELL ATATÜRK'S STORY?

Kemal, who wants to be an astronaut when he grows up, does not receive support for his dreams from his family. His parents want him to set achievable goals so that he does not face disappointment later in life, but Kemal cannot let go of his dream of becoming an astronaut. Sensing the unhappiness within her son, Mustafa's mother sends him to his grandfather Arif, whom she believes will bring him back to a more realistic foundation. When Arif listens to his grandson and begins to tell the story of Mustafa Kemal, Kemal finds himself in the world of a child who, like him, had a big dream and, like him, faced a dream that seemed difficult to achieve.

THE FACTS THAT MADE 'MUSTAFA' INTO 'ATATÜRK'

In the period covering the first twelve years of his life, when he was still just "Mustafa," the audience is met by a child who searches for his own path amidst the ups and downs of life and who, after holding onto a dream, acts with determination and never gives up. While the events are presented chronologically to reflect the truth, the development process of some of the characteristics that made Mustafa into "Kemal Atatürk" is accompanied by the atmosphere of Thessaloniki in the last quarter of the 19th century.

The process, which shows what kind of child Mustafa was and provides clues about the adult he would become, includes moments he shared with his mother Zübeyde Hanım, his father Ali Rıza Efendi, his sister Makbule Hanım, and his uncle Hüseyin Bey. In the sum of all these moments, Mustafa's maturity, compassion, strategic intelligence, sensitivity, determination, stubbornness, selectivity, resourcefulness, curiosity, how he faced difficulties, his fun side that usually emerged when he was with Makbule, and his perseverance when faced with a problem come to light.

THE FIRST FILM OF A FOUR-PART SERIES

"Mustafa" will be the first film in a series consisting of 4 films about the life of the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. The film "Mustafa Kemal," which tells of Atatürk's youth, will be released on October 23, 2026; the film "Mustafa Kemal Atatürk," which covers his adult years, will be released on November 3, 2028; and the film "Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk" will be released on November 1, 2030.
