200 people who resigned from the DEVA Party Zonguldak provincial organization have joined the CHP. While badges were pinned on those joining the CHP, former DEVA Party Provincial Chair Samet Albayrak stated that they resigned due to 'bad politics'.
BADGE PINNING CEREMONY HELD
According to the local newspaper Pusula, the badge pinning ceremony held at the CHP Provincial building was attended by CHP Zonguldak Deputy Eylem Ertuğ Ertuğrul, CHP Provincial Chair Devrim Dural, CHP Central District Chair Osman Zaimoğlu, CHP Zonguldak Mayoral Candidate Tahsin Erdem, as well as administrators and members.
CHP Deputy Eylem Ertuğ Ertuğrul and Provincial Chair Devrim Dural pinned the badges of those who recently joined the party.
"WE WILL WIN BY UNITING"
Provincial Chair Devrim Dural said the following in his speech at the ceremony:
"The reason we are gathered here today is the joining of our party by the former Provincial Chair of the DEVA Party, Mr. Samet Albayrak, and former party members. We have always said this in Zonguldak; we will win by uniting. We stand behind our word. Today is proof of this. We are all experiencing great joy; we will win by uniting. We are forming the alliance at the grassroots level with Kemalists and populists that we did not form at the top. This is exactly where we will implement social municipalism. I would like to state once again that I believe Samet Albayrak and the party members will add momentum to our party, and I thank them. I find this process very valuable.
When you look at it, lawlessness and injustice are running rampant in our country. We are coming to prevent these. Our goal is the 2024 local elections. With the momentum we have gained here, we will march toward 2028. We will prove what social municipalism is in Zonguldak, how to touch the public, and how investment comes to Zonguldak. Let no one have any doubts. In this sense, I also congratulate Mr. Tahsin Erdem."
"WE WILL WORK TO WIN THE ZONGULDAK MUNICIPALITY BY GOING STREET BY STREET"
Samet Albayrak stated that bad politics brought them together under the CHP umbrella and made the following statement:
"With 81 days left until the local elections, we are moving to the CHP with nearly 200 friends. Bad politics led us to unite under the CHP umbrella. From today on, we will work to be in power locally and nationally. I believe that we will bring new blood to the CHP Zonguldak organization with our young friends and that we will be successful in the elections. Tahsin Erdem was announced last night. He is our Zonguldak mayoral candidate. We will work to win the Zonguldak Municipality by going neighborhood by neighborhood, street by street with him. We will prevent migration from Zonguldak. We will fire the first flare of this with Tahsin Erdem. I thank our Provincial Chair Devrim, our deputy, and our District Chair Osman very much for opening their doors to us.”
