5 workers employed by AKP-run municipality detained

Before the opening ceremony of the 3rd International Menemen Pottery Festival, which was attended by AKP Youth Branch Chairman and İzmir Deputy Eyüp Kadir İnan, AKP İzmir Provincial Chairman Bilal Saygılı, and MHP İzmir Provincial Chairman Veysel Şahin, municipal workers Cumali Akay, Kemal Bakırcı, Semih Bitiş, Duygu Güngör, and Başak Sopacı were detained.

According to the information received, it was stated that the 5 municipal workers were detained on the grounds that they resisted the police during their protest the previous day.

It was learned that the detained workers were taken to the Asarlık Police Station for questioning.
