With 35 days left until the elections, a mass resignation took place at the Future Party Bağcılar District Presidency. Future Party Bağcılar District Chair Mertcan Kaplan and his entire executive board decided to resign from their party and join the AKP.
A badge-pinning ceremony was held at the Bağcılar AKP District Headquarters for the 50 people who chose the AKP. The program was attended by AKP Istanbul Provincial Chair Osman Nuri Kabaktepe, Bağcılar Mayor Abdullah Özdemir, AKP District Chair Rüstem Tüysüz, and members of the AKP district organization.
"YOU WILL BE A GREAT SUPPORT TO BAĞCILAR'S 70 PERCENT RECORD"
Expressing his gratitude to those who recently joined the AKP, AKP Istanbul Provincial Chair Osman Nuri Kabaktepe said, “You have added strength to our struggle, shoulder to shoulder, for the future of our Istanbul and the future of our Turkey. You have added energy. Especially in this election atmosphere, you will be a great support to Bağcılar's 70 percent record. I both congratulate you and say, 'no stopping, keep going',” he said.
Stating that they were together on a beautiful and meaningful day, Bağcılar Mayor Abdullah Özdemir said, “Welcome to our family. Our youth branches have a slogan: 'Bağcılar has become one, it is coming with a roar.' We have become one, we have become together, thank God we are coming with a roar. We have come not to be a burden, but to carry the load. We will be partners in a great struggle to lighten Istanbul's load as well. We say a record in Bağcılar and Murat Kurum in Istanbul,” he said.
"WE DECIDED TO WALK WITH THE RIGHT PEOPLE"
Expressing that he was very happy, Kaplan said: “We decided to walk the path together with the right people in the right ranks. I believe that in the coming period, we will do very good work for Turkey, both in Bağcılar and across Istanbul. There are 50 of our friends here right now, but there are 150 friends acting with us.”
BADGES PINNED ON MEMBERS
When asked about the reason for their party change, Kaplan replied, “The most special situation that influenced us is our desire to say stop to the poor management in Istanbul and to walk the path together with our young, dynamic mayor in Bağcılar. It is to provide good services to Istanbul, specifically in Bağcılar, together with him. Mayor Abdullah is the mayor that young people love the most. He is also the mayor of our hearts. We love him very much. We will continue our struggle in Bağcılar with our mayor and in Istanbul with Mr. Murat Kurum. I believe we will complete the end in a beautiful way.”
Following the speeches, Kabaktepe, Özdemir, and Tüysüz pinned badges on the new AKP members.
