955th anniversary of the Battle of Manzikert: Cabinet to meet in Ahlat

Events marking the 955th anniversary of the Battle of Manzikert have begun in the Ahlat district of Bitlis. Preparations at the event venue have been completed as part of the programs organized at the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan National Garden, and it has been reported that the Cabinet meeting will be held in Ahlat again this year.

Bitlis Governor Ahmet Karakaya visited the tents set up at the event area and inspected the final status of the preparations. Governor Karakaya was welcomed at the site by mounted units and motorized teams. Later, Governor Karakaya visited the Bitlis Governorship tent together with Ahlat District Governor Özgür Kaya and Ahlat Mayor Yavuz Gülmez.

50 THEMATIC TENTS AT THE EVENT AREA

Making a statement before the program, Ahlat Mayor Yavuz Gülmez said that in addition to the main khan tent, 50 thematic tents have been set up in the area. Gülmez stated that institutions, non-governmental organizations, municipalities, and guests from different parts of the world will be hosted at the event venue.

Gülmez expressed that the events will bring together different cultures, traditions, and values of the Turkish and Islamic worlds with the youth. The program will include various competitions, gastronomy events, and performances by SoloTürk and the Steel Wings. It was also reported that the Kok-boru final will be held in Ahlat, and the Traditional Equestrian Sports Federation plans to hold the final organization in Ahlat in the coming years as well.

Ahlat Mayor Gülmez stated that AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will address the public from the event area on August 25, and announced that the Cabinet meeting will be held in Ahlat for the third time.

"Our President will address the world from this area and will have messages for the world. Subsequently, the Cabinet meeting has been held in Ahlat for two years. Hopefully, we will gather the Cabinet in Ahlat again this year and be instrumental in taking important decisions. We will see our President off to Manzikert on August 26, the day the conquest took place."

Events organized for the anniversary of the Battle of Manzikert will continue on August 25 with the participation of Erdoğan. Following the program, the ceremonies to be held in Manzikert on August 26 will commence.
