Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş has been elected President of the Union of Historical Towns, while İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cemil Tugay has been elected President of the Healthy Cities Association.

Following the March 31 Local Elections, the leadership of the Union of Historical Towns has passed from the AKP to the CHP, following the Marmara Municipalities Union and the Union of Municipalities of Türkiye.
During the session, the union's CHP members nominated Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş as their candidate for president. The AKP members' candidate was Hatay Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mehmet Öntürk.
CHP's candidate Mansur Yavaş was elected president of the union.
İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cemil Tugay, meanwhile, became the President of the Healthy Cities Association.
CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE FROM İMAMOĞLU
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who was elected President of the Union of Municipalities of Türkiye (TBB), shared a congratulatory message for Yavaş and Tugay on his social media account.
İmamoğlu's post is as follows:
