A 'Palace' claim about Meral Akşener that will be much talked about! What did she say in a private meeting with an AKP figure?

A striking claim has been made regarding IYI Party Chair Meral Akşener, who decided to enter the local elections 'freely and independently'.

Kısa Dalga columnist Sedat Bozkurt, in his article titled "And Akşener submitted the petition to the Palace", reported on a private meeting IYI Party Chair Meral Akşener held with an AKP figure.

Evaluating Akşener's recent statement, "I am speaking very openly and honestly. The Table of Six was right according to us, but it must have been wrong according to you, as we could not win," Bozkurt provided the information that "Akşener had a similar dialogue regarding the parliamentary system with her close colleagues as she did with the voters."

Bozkurt wrote that in a private meeting with an important AKP figure, whom she knew would absolutely relay the message to AKP Chair and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Akşener said, "The voters did not approve; the parliamentary system has fallen off the agenda. The presidential system has become permanent."

“Like everyone else, I am curious about IYI Party leader Meral Akşener's political roadmap. When you don't have information, you can only comment based on data you obtain from her statements and actions. But sometimes she makes such statements that you even find it difficult to comment.

Finally, upon a question from citizens, she said that they found the Nation Alliance to be correct, but that the voters found it wrong and did not vote for it. A politics that tries to determine right and wrong based on the voters' preference is truly very problematic. If the voters prefer Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, why do you run as a candidate against him or put forward a candidate? Why do you have a candidate in every electoral district in the local elections? If the voters do not prefer you, will you close the party?

Akşener had a similar dialogue regarding the parliamentary system with her close colleagues as she did with the voters. With the approval she received from there, she conveyed this view in a private meeting to an important AKP figure, whom she knew would absolutely relay it to Erdoğan:

“The voters did not approve; the parliamentary system has fallen off the agenda. The presidential system has become permanent.”

This is also a declaration that the IYI Party will change its position if some changes are made to the presidential system with the approval of MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli. At the same time, it is a petition for a potential cooperation that could be established with the People's Alliance. Because after the local elections, the biggest storm will break out in the IYI Party, following the CHP. If Akşener wants to remain at the helm of her ship as a captain, she may have to steer the ship to a safe harbor, to the side of the government, which the right-wing politics would appreciate. Bahçeli did exactly this after the split with the IYI Party, saving both his captaincy and the ship from sinking. In other words, this is a model that has yielded results."
