According to the decision published in the Official Gazette, the Office of the Chief Public Prosecutor of the Supreme Court of Appeals filed a lawsuit with the Constitutional Court for the automatic dissolution and termination of the legal existence of the Justice and Freedom Party, on the grounds that it failed to hold its first grand congress within the required time and failed to form its mandatory bodies.

Within the scope of the case, the Constitutional Court requested a defense from the party, but no defense was submitted within the given time frame.

Reviewing the file, the High Court ruled that, in accordance with Article 121 of the Law on Political Parties No. 2820 and Article 87 of the Turkish Civil Code No. 4721, the party is considered dissolved and its legal existence has ended. Furthermore, it was decided that all of the party's assets shall be transferred to the Treasury as required by law.
