Abdulkadir Selvi reveals poll results for Istanbul and Ankara

Hürriyet columnist Abdulkadir Selvi, who was described by President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan as having 'done what was necessary,' shared the research results of Areda Survey.

"The Istanbul results from the poll show that Ekrem İmamoğlu could lose the elections," said Selvi, with the relevant part of his column as follows:

"ANKARA IS DIFFERENT"

"All eyes will be on Istanbul in the local elections. Will Ekrem İmamoğlu, whose position is debated even within the CHP, win or lose? Will the IYI Party and HEDEP field candidates in Istanbul? Of course, the most important question is who will be the AK Party's candidate? The answers to these questions will determine the fate of the election. But despite these uncertainties, the Istanbul results from the poll show that Ekrem İmamoğlu could lose the elections.

When asked which party will win the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality in the upcoming local elections, 45.2 percent of the survey participants answered the AK Party, while the rate of those saying CHP remained at 40.9 percent. Those saying the IYI Party will win came out at 3.4 percent, while the New Welfare Party is in fourth place with 2.8 percent. Those saying the Green Left Party, which took the name HEDEP, will win was 2.5 percent, while the MHP took sixth place with 2.4 percent.

As for the Areda-Survey research. While 49.5 percent of the survey participants said the CHP will win, the rate of those saying the AK Party remained at 40.4 percent. The Green Left Party came out at 2.8 percent, while those saying the IYI Party remained at 2.3 percent. The New Welfare Party was 1.8 percent, while the MHP came out at 1.7 percent."
