Abdulkadir Selvi's 'Osman Kavala' suggestion to the AKP: 'Spring needs to arrive'

Hürriyet columnist Abdulkadir Selvi offered suggestions in his column today to the AKP, which became the second-largest party for the first time in 17 elections during the March 31 local elections.

Selvi stated, "President Erdoğan is expected to present a prescription that will enable the AK Party to win election victories again after making a sincere self-criticism. It is being discussed that he will draw a new perspective for the deputies." In his column, he said the following:

"With the reforms it carried out, the AK Party both paved its own way and cleared the way for Turkey by liquidating the tutelage system. By breaking the rusty chains placed on the national will, it placed the religious and the Kurds, who were marginalized by the Republic, at the center of the system. Reformism and renewal were once the hallmarks of the AK Party.

One of the points discussed by the strategy team was the AK Party's return to its reformist identity.

KAVALA SUGGESTION

This would be a step that would also relieve Turkey. What is the benefit to Turkey of keeping Osman Kavala in prison and having the Gezi protesters serve years in prison? What benefit does it provide to the AK Party?

The climate needs to change and spring needs to arrive.
