Ahmet Türk speaks out on Burcu Köksal! What did he say about Özgür Özel and Ekrem İmamoğlu?
Speaking on the controversial remarks made by CHP Afyonkarahisar Mayoral candidate Burcu Köksal, DEM Party Mardin Metropolitan Mayoral candidate Ahmet Türk stated, "CHP member Burcu Köksal's statement has made Kurds distrustful of both her and her party. However, it is not right to question the entire CHP based on this incident."

CHP Afyonkarahisar Mayoral candidate Burcu Köksal's declaration that "When I am elected, the doors of the municipality will be open to every party except the DEM Party" continues to occupy the political agenda.
A statement regarding Köksal's remarks, which have caused controversy within her party, also came from Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Mardin Metropolitan Mayoral candidate Ahmet Türk.
"IT IS NOT RIGHT TO QUESTION THE ENTIRE CHP BASED ON THIS INCIDENT"
Speaking to Serbestiyet, Ahmet Türk evaluated Köksal's statements regarding the DEM Party as follows:
"This is the result of a racist, fascist mindset. This person has dropped her mask and shown her true face. In fact, such a statement has made Kurds feel distrustful of both her and her party. There was already a sense of distrust before due to some of the CHP's attitudes. But it is not right to question the entire CHP based on this incident. We know that the entire CHP does not share an understanding in line with her language. This person has also caused great harm to her own party, the CHP, in a way.
We have been saying this from the beginning; if the identity and culture of a people are not internalized, we will always face similar incidents. Because Turkey is a country that hosts many identities, cultures, and differences together. Doing politics without seeing this reality does not ensure peace or embrace in Turkey.
Everyone has a responsibility to rethink and conduct politics that will embrace the entire society. For the future, for the brotherhood of peoples, one must follow such a path. Beyond this, the racist policies pursued serve no purpose other than to strain society."

Ahmet Türk also spoke about the statements made by CHP leader Özgür Özel and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu regarding Burcu Köksal;
"Of course, if the CHP had remained silent against such a racist and fascist mindset, it would have truly been under a great burden. As a party that claims to be social democratic from time to time, it would have fallen short of its own claims. It would have harmed not only the CHP but the entire society. Therefore, they acted responsibly in correcting this or opposing it."
