Akit columnist calls on Erdoğan to name a successor: 'If the nation tries this again...'

Akit columnist İdris Günaydın interpreted the local elections in his column titled "Why did we lose in Giresun?".

Günaydın noted, "Those I know very well, who would give their lives for Tayyip Erdoğan, did not go to the ballot box this time. In other words, they issued a warning to Tayyip Bey through their husbands' pensions," and added, "The hardest thing was to set aside one's affection for Tayyip Bey and not vote for him. But in this election, the nation succeeded in doing so. This is by no means a success, but the nation did it by not going to the polls. What comes next is a disaster. The nation will try this again and again. The downward spiral of defeat will continue to grow."

Stating that one should not joke with the public, Günaydın wrote, "They say a hungry person will burn down a bakery. This time, they burned down our bakery, and the damage fell upon us." Expressing that the public sent a message in this election saying, "If you are the king of this realm, I want to be the king of my own home. Can there be a miserable king? You eat and drink as you please, but when it comes to me, you say 'be patient.' It doesn't work like that. I don't want a salary as high as yours. However, I should at least be able to go out for a meal with my spouse once a year," Günaydın said, "In my opinion, the solution is for Tayyip Bey to announce his successor and delegate the management of the party to them, while he remains in charge of the country's administration."
