Akit columnist İdris Günaydın targeted IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu in his column today. Günaydın criticized İmamoğlu for "getting rich," stating that he has bought a car and pays 20,000 TL in rent.

'TAYYİP BEY IS CONDEMNED TO LIVE LIKE A POOR MAN'

Here is Günaydın's article:

"I witnessed what a great and meaningful decision the people of Istanbul made by electing Ekrem İmamoğlu. Bravo. The man has worked! I used to always take the elevator to the Bağcılar metro. I would reach Bağcılar Square by the time I counted to 56. This time, I chose the escalator. Wow! It's as if there is a five-story city underground. And one cannot get enough of Ekrem İmamoğlu's 'beauties.' At every stop, at least one of the escalators is definitely broken. I, who never once walked up the stairs during the seven years I lived in Istanbul, walked up plenty this time. My legs got stretched. A feat of Ekrem İmamoğlu!

Just imagine what it would be like if the CHP were in power. Surely, several ministries would be like those non-functioning escalators, and things wouldn't move. The Prime Minister would just hem and haw and amuse himself. Like the Ecevit era.

But unfortunately, even if you provide this unparalleled service, there is a group that looks at you with blind and ungrateful eyes. What a pity!

The man has been in office for a few years. He eats at the most expensive restaurants in Istanbul. He pays 20,000 TL in rent. He has also bought a car in these few years. He accuses Tayyip Erdoğan of grand theft. Erdoğan is someone who has been receiving a high-level salary for 29 years. That may be so, but he is condemned to live like a poor man! It doesn't matter at all where they themselves have evolved to. They work and buy, while Tayyip Bey crawls!

Shame on them. Shame on those who see the money spent on the Bağcılar Square station and still do not vote for Tayyip Bey or the person he points to. That is all."
