AKP provincial congress dates for Ankara, İzmir, and Istanbul announced! When is the 8th Ordinary Congress?

AKP Deputy Chairman Erkan Kandemir announced important dates regarding the party's 8th Ordinary Congress process. While announcing the dates for the Ankara, İzmir, and Istanbul provincial congresses, Kandemir stated that the grand congress will be held in the last week of February.

In his statement during a live broadcast on A Haber, Kandemir said that February 23 has been set for the 8th Ordinary Congress. "We planned it for the last week of February, and our preparations are complete. With this date, we will have completed the congress process," he said.

AKP ANKARA, İZMİR, AND ISTANBUL PROVINCIAL CONGRESS DATES

Reminding that the provincial congresses have been ongoing since November 30 as part of the AKP's congress process, which began on October 12, 2024, Kandemir announced that the Ankara provincial congress will be held on January 21, the İzmir provincial congress on February 1, and the Istanbul provincial congress on February 8. He stated that the provincial congresses will be completed with these dates.

Emphasizing that AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has been conducting changes in provincial leadership through a democratic process, Kandemir announced that 75 percent of provincial chairmen and 55 percent of district chairmen have been changed.

Stating that female representation in the party has increased, Kandemir said, "We have doubled the number of our female district chairmen compared to the previous congress period. We continue to strengthen the presence of women in politics."
