AKP challenges results in Şanlıurfa's Halfeti district won by DEM Party candidate: 'Ballots were burned'

After reviewing the case, the Provincial Election Board accepted the objection and decided to renew the election.
The matter had previously been referred to the Provincial Election Board after the District Election Board rejected the AKP's objection.
According to the unofficial results of the Local Administration General Elections held on March 31 in Halfeti, DEM Party candidate Mehmet Karayılan received 39.45 percent of the votes, while AK Party candidate Şeref Albayrak received 33.64 percent.
