Çorum AKP Deputy Yusuf Ahlatcı has taken action following criticisms directed at him by journalist Elvan Yılmaz, the owner of the Rota Çorum Haber news site, in an article titled "Were the people of Çorum deceived again?"

Yılmaz had targeted AKP Deputy Yusuf Ahlatcı over the failure to bring a high-speed train to Çorum, claiming that Ahlatcı remained insufficient in providing services and that his requests were not taken into consideration by the AKP Headquarters.

'MY REPUTATION WAS DAMAGED'

Deputy Yusuf Ahlatcı filed a criminal complaint with the Çorum Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, stating that the news report in question aimed to discredit him and that he was humiliated in the public eye. Ahlatcı initiated legal proceedings against Yılmaz, claiming that his personal reputation had been damaged.

INTENDED TO INTIMIDATE AND SILENCE

Journalist Elvan Yılmaz denied the accusations in his statement at the police station. Emphasizing that his report aimed to inform the public, Yılmaz described Ahlatcı's criminal complaint as an attempt to intimidate and silence him. Yılmaz stated that he was exercising his right to criticism within the framework of press freedom.

HIGH-SPEED TRAIN CRITICISMS ON THE AGENDA
