The Workers' Party of Turkey (TİP) withdrew its nomination for Hatay Metropolitan Municipality Mayor for Gökhan Zan. It has been stated that People's Alliance Hatay Mayoral Candidate Mehmet Öntürk and AKP Hatay Deputy Adem Yeşildal, whose names were mentioned in audio recordings allegedly belonging to Zan and an individual named Turgay K., will file criminal complaints regarding the recordings in question.
Nagehan Alçı from Habertürk reported on the meeting between AKP Deputy Chairman for Election Affairs Ali İhsan Yavuz and AKP Hatay Deputy Adem Yeşildal with the following statements:
"The first thing they will do this morning (Tuesday) is file criminal complaints with the prosecutor's office, both Yeşildal and Mehmet Öntürk. This development reached them yesterday at 16:20, so they had to leave it for the next day.
However, I think it would have been much better if they had at least reacted strongly on social media immediately.
By the way, the source of these allegations is an individual named Turgay K.
I am calling out to the judiciary here: Who is this Turgay K.? I looked, and it says 'geoscientist' next to his name; he was still active on Twitter yesterday and accusing Gökhan Zan. However, aside from whether Gökhan Zan is guilty or not, it is seen in those recordings that Turgay K. is negotiating a bribe.
Dear members of the judiciary, while the authenticity of the recordings is being examined on one hand, shouldn't this person be summoned to testify immediately? Please do what is necessary..."
LÜTFÜ SAVAŞ: "I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THESE ALLEGATIONS"
On the other hand, CHP's Hatay Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Lütfü Savaş used the expressions, "I have nothing to do with these allegations. We are in the field, we are working, we are winning the election," regarding Gökhan Zan's accusations.
