AKP's Birinci on 'Öcalan': If we had heard these words from Özel, we would have started a purge!

Former AKP MKYK member Mücahit Birinci harshly criticized the call made by MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli to Abdullah Öcalan. Birinci stated, "If we had heard what we heard from Bahçeli from someone like Özgür Özel, we would have started a purge." Stating that Bahçeli's call would not yield results on the ground, Birinci drew attention to the geopolitical threats Turkey is facing and emphasized that Bahçeli's remarks regarding Öcalan require explanation.

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's remarks regarding PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, in which he said, "If the isolation is lifted, let him come and speak at the DEM Party Group Meeting in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM), and shout that terrorism has completely ended and the organization has been disbanded," continue to spark debate.

Former AKP Central Decision and Executive Board (MKYK) member and lawyer Mücahit Birinci evaluated Bahçeli's statement through numerous posts on his social media account.

Birinci said, "If we had heard what we heard from Bahçeli from Özgür Özel or someone like that, we would have started a purge."

"IT IS NOT A CALL THAT WILL HAVE RESULTS ON THE GROUND"

Following this, Birinci made another post, stating that Bahçeli's call was "not a call that will have results on the ground."

Birinci's post, in which he listed his evaluations regarding Bahçeli's words, is as follows:

"1- Israel is on Syrian territory, 50-60 km away from Damascus.

2- Russia has cleared the area against this positioning of Israel. It is not making a single word of condemnation.

3- Syria has not made a peep about this occupation by Israel.

4- The US is determined to establish a PKK state in northern Syria. There are oil fields belonging to the PKK in Deir ez-Zor.

In the face of all these geopolitical developments against Turkey, Turkey heard the call for Öcalan to declare in parliament that he has laid down his arms, from the mouth of Mr. Devlet Bahçeli, the political leader who has been the most bitter enemy of Öcalan.

The TBMM part requires explanation. The individual is serving an aggravated life sentence. Therefore, it requires interpretation.

However, it is clear that, whatever we call this process, in my opinion, we are seeing its state after maturation. That is why we are surprised. I think everyone needs a little time to get used to this new doctrine."
