AKP's Tuğrul Türkeş on 'Kavala': What Özgür Özel said is correct
Speaking to journalist İsmail Saymaz, AKP member Tuğrul Türkeş stated that CHP leader Özel's observations at the European Parliament reflect the truth, saying, "What he said is correct. But he expressed it in his own unique way as a politician."

Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel had said upon his return from a visit to the European Parliament, “Every time we open our mouths, we are confronted with Kavala. You ask for the time, and they tell you to release Kavala first.’’
Journalist İsmail Saymaz asked Tuğrul Türkeş, head of the Turkish delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and AKP Ankara MP, about Özel's remarks.

Stating that "This reflects the truth," Türkeş said, "If you say that you accept the decisions of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) as superior law, you must implement them. Özel held intensive contacts. He kindly visited our Turkish delegation room as well. What he said is correct. But he expressed it in his own unique way as a politician."
Türkeş also added, "Turkey's growth will come through freedoms, not through punishments. Freedoms must be increased."
