AKP motion accepted: Turkish Parliament to go on a 1-week recess

A motion submitted by the AKP to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), proposing a one-week suspension of the General Assembly's work, has been accepted. This decision has created uncertainty regarding when the 11th Judicial Package and other significant regulations will be discussed, while also drawing criticism from opposition parties.
İYİ Party Denizli Deputy Yasin Öztürk, in his statement regarding the motion, emphasized that the legislative body should work according to the needs of the public, not according to vacation plans. Öztürk stated, "The duty of the Parliament is not to chase a calendar, but to draft laws suitable for needs, fulfill its oversight duties, and discuss the budget."
CHP İstanbul Deputy Cemal Enginyurt criticized the fact that a vote will be held to determine working days after the Parliament's one-week recess. Enginyurt remarked, "Actually, there is no need; we are already either accepting or rejecting everything with the votes of both sides."
