AKP's Şamil Tayyar insists on 'Bahçeli' claim: 'No one can explain the paradox between the trustee and Öcalan project'

While MHP Chairman Bahçeli reiterated his call for Öcalan during his group meeting, AKP's Şamil Tayyar had previously stated, "The President was not aware of Devlet Bahçeli's Öcalan initiative in advance. Today, we understand that Mr. Devlet was also not aware of the trustee appointment in advance." In his latest statement, Tayyar said, "In my opinion, that is the situation; Mr. Devlet is persistent in his proposal, the government is distant, and the public is confused. No one can explain the paradox between the diametrically opposed trustee and Öcalan projects."

MHP Chairman Bahçeli reiterated his call for PKK leader Öcalan to address the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) at his party's latest group meeting.

Following Bahçeli's remarks, AKP's Şamil Tayyar made a notable post, stating, "The President was not aware of Devlet Bahçeli's Öcalan initiative in advance. Today, we understand that Mr. Devlet was also not aware of the trustee appointment in advance."

'DIAMETRICALLY OPPOSED'

Reiterating his claim in a statement today, Tayyar noted the following:

"I would like to provide a collective response to one or two criticisms regarding my last post.

Every criticism is important, and I would like to benefit from them. As long as there is no slander, insult, or derogatory language.

My message is very clear: it is to draw attention to a potential danger and to issue a warning, in a friendly manner.

Beyond that, I have no attitude of accusing anyone.

If those who say there is no problem are right, then the matter is already closed, and no one should worry.

But in my opinion, that is not the situation; Mr. Devlet is persistent in his proposal, the government is distant, and the public is confused.

No one can explain the paradox between the diametrically opposed trustee and Öcalan projects.

If a common ground cannot be found to clear up the mental confusion, the issue may have political complications.

In summary, this is what we are saying.

Nevertheless, if you think differently, let's leave it to time and observe together."
