AKP İstanbul MP Serkan Bayram drew attention with his remarks on the Çalar Saat program broadcast on NOW TV. Bayram reacted sharply to former Minister of Family and Social Policies and former AKP Deputy Chair Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya, whose name has been mentioned in the process known publicly as the "fund investigation."

In a broadcast clip shared by program host İlker Karagöz on his X account, Bayram stated, "We have taken away the rights of many people, of our disabled brothers and sisters. Was it so that Fatma Betül could eat? And she oversees social policies. No one should take offense. Everyone should pay the price. It hurts my heart now."

Bayram stated that bank receipts and account explanations should be provided regarding the allegations, saying, "One says they deposited it, the other says they didn't. My friend, the Minister of Finance has opened an account. If you deposited it, you send the receipt, you come before the public."

"LET OUR PARTY BE TRULY CLEARED"

AKP's Bayram argued that the process must be cleaned up regardless of who is mentioned in the investigation. He called for accountability within the party with the words, "They say there are deputy chairs, they say there are people from the bureaucracy, they say there are deputy ministers. Whoever is involved in this, let them be cleared. Let our party be truly cleared."

Bayram stated that trust in justice is directly linked to the economy, saying, "There is no investment where there is no justice. Foreign capital does not come, and it is not coming; it is fleeing."

In his remarks, Bayram also criticized the detention practices targeting mayors, assessing, "A mayor has been elected. We take them in the morning, why do we take them? If you summon them, they would come anyway. This applies to all our mayors. It is a shame."
